2008 Restoration Summary

La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa, A RockResort in Santa Fe, New Mexico, has announced plans to conduct a 6 million dollar renovation in early 2008. Owner Gencom Group is working with Spillis Candela DMJM design firm on plans to further enhance the guestrooms and public spaces including the lobby, RockResorts Spa™ and an additional new dining venue. The enhancement project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2008 bringing a new distinction to an extraordinary resort.

Interior Design

Guest Room Rendering

As part of the interior design plan, La Posada has partnered with the Museum of New Mexico Foundation to incorporate indigenous fabrics. A commission on the furnishings is paid to the foundation to support their ongoing initiatives. Using designs from the museum will reinforce La Posada’s commitment to providing a sense-of-place that encompasses the flavor of Santa Fe. Colors are earth tones and natural shades of southwestern flavor with New Mexican inspired accents in wood and weavings.

New Guest Arrival Experience 

  • Relocation of the resort’s Concierge Desk opens up the lobby area for a more expansive sense of arrival at the Front Desk.
  • For a more personal approach in exceptional service, the Front Desk is lowered to allow arriving guests to be seated during the check- in process and offered a beverage if they wish. 
  • An additional Front Desk is added for multiple individuals arriving simultaneously. 
  • Lobby furniture is replaced and its arrangement reconfigured to maximize use of existing floor space. 
  • Library and Rose Room furniture is replaced with new drapes and rugs, two new game tables and refinished wood floors.

Guest Accommodations 

  • Carpet, paint, linens, beds, bedding, headboards, televisions, some armoires are replaced with credenzas, refinished wood floors, area rugs, decorative pillows, window coverings and flat panel LCD TV’s. 
  • Bathroom renovations complete with energy efficient fixtures; showers and tile 
  • Upholstery and lighting, nightstands, desks and decorative lamps 
  • Fresh new Victorian accents in the Staab House and a gas fireplace added in the Julia Staab Suite

Food and Beverage 

  • Fuego which is La Posada’s AAA Four Diamond dining establishment receives new furniture and a new exterior entrance to enhance evening-only fine dining. 
  • Introducing Viga – La Posada’s breakfast, lunch and dinner venue beside Fuego. 
  • Introducing a new Wine Room adjacent to the Rose Room of The Staab House creating a private dining room for small groups. 
  • La Posada’s cuisine and wine program wants to build on its third party recognition and awards such as the Wine Spectator and AAA rating. 
  • The Staab House Lounge will have reupholstered bar stools, new tables, chairs, area rugs and refinished wood floors. The venue will have a more open floor plan for service of ‘small plates’ and signature cocktails.
  • The resort’s kitchen receives energy efficient upgrades in dish area.

RockResorts Spa at La Posada 

  • The spa’s Front Desk location receives a facelift for a more tranquil setting. 
  • An enhanced relaxation area is cloaked in new lounge furniture with food and beverage offerings added. 
  • A shower is added to the couple’s treatment room. 
  • A new exterior entrance to the fitness room provides 24 hour access for guests who want to workout at extreme hours.
