LA POSADA DE SANTA FE RESORT & SPA UNVEILS RENOVATED GUESTROOMS FEATURING LOCALLY CRAFTED FURNISHINGS
**$1 MILLION ENHANCEMENT PROJECT ADDS FRESH APPEAL TO ROCKRESORT**

Santa Fe, NM - October 15, 2004 - Utilizing the work of local Santa Fe craftsmen and artists, La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa, a RockResort, debuted its newly refurbished rooms last month.  The $1 million refurbishment, which focused on upgrading furnishings in 146 of its 157 guestrooms, have brightened the rooms, giving a fresher, updated look.

Located in an adobe-style village, each guestroom is unique in shape and layout.  The redecoration carefully accounted for the individual space and was tailored accordingly. The project includes fresh paint schemes with softer colors, new upholstered desk chairs, leather chairs, lounge chairs, ottomans, and sleeper sofas, as well as handmade Navajo-style rugs with designs resembling traditional Chiefs' blankets.  Select rooms offer four-poster beds that are hand-made and distinctly carved by craftsman and painter Trent Edwards, who has been creating custom furniture in Santa Fe since the 198Os and now exhibits his artwork locally.  New bedding utilizes traditional Mexican hand-woven sarape fabrics in a deep red, forest green and raw ocher color scheme, with throw pillows that are hand-woven Kilim.  The guestrooms also feature improved lighting with floor lamps and rawhide shades, as well as artwork based on prints by Gustave Baumann, one of Santa Fe's most beloved artists, whose woodcuts embody Santa Fe and Pueblo landmarks.  Bathroom upgrades include new mirrors and amenities, and cork tile floors.  Later this year, wireless internet access will be available.

Nestled on six lush, landscaped acres in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico, La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa is located just two blocks from the historic Plaza, art galleries and world class shopping.  The resort has a rich history that predates the 19th century. Abraham Staab, who had immigrated to Santa Fe from Germany in the mid 1800's, built the mansion for his wife in 1822.  La Posada de Santa Fe is a 157-room pueblo-style village resort offering adobe-style rooms and suites with wood-beamed ceilings, wrought-iron furnishings, Kiva fireplaces and patios.  Several special suites feature original works of art from some of Santa Fe's most prestigious galleries.  At the property's Avanyu Spa, Santa Fe's only hotel full-service spa, guests can indulge in indigenous spa treatments such as the Adobe Mud Wrap or Corn Dance Purification Scrub.  Dining options include La Posada's award-winning Fuego Restaurant, the Garden Patio, or the Staab House, which is noted as "Santa Fe's Most Romantic Bar."
